A Thing Of Beauty And A Steal Forever

Handbags are the ultimate signifier of social status among women. Jewelry is close, but in jewelry, less is more - and is often missed. Cars? You don't carry your car inside with you to a restaurant, or take it into a mall. Handbags - especially luxury handbags - are the most prolific, and most easily identifiable, signifier of where someone stands in the economic pecking order of our society.
It's also one of the most easily accessible status symbols available. There are pricey, beautiful bags available online for a fraction of what their owners originally paid for them. Hey, the recession has hit the upscale hard, too. Which is why those smart shoppers who have saved their pennies can take advantage of the current tide in economic affairs. When you can buy a $3000 bag for $500 in very slightly used condition - wow, talk about economic mobility!
Some might deride our view on how society views people who project images of wealth. To those people we say, "Oh well. Go and live on an organic rice farm if you really feel that way."
Besides - they're so pretty!
If you've worked hard, then you deserve something nice. And if you've saved and saved to get it, wouldn't it be nicer to get more bang for your buck? That's how online sites really benefit the consumer. Twenty years ago, buying a designer bag for cheap would have entailed huge markups for the middleman (or
middlewoman). But now, online sites (and even online consignment shops) can take advantage of the low overhead of selling on the internet to offer fantastic prices that benefit both the buyer and the seller.
Want a thing of beauty (which, as we know, is a joy forever) AND a status symbol, but aren't sure if 'it's really you'? We have a couple of words for you on that, as well. Make it till you fake it. Project success - for less! And if you really have 'made it' in an economic sense, and you're here on this site reading these words, then you know that a penny saved might not be much, but $1000 saved is definitely a grand earned.
